Share the Love, and What Next?

First
of all, I have to give a shout out to
Tranquil Lotus Massage
for
collecting so many art supplies for the Share the
Love program. The kids at the homeless shelters
are going to be so thrilled with this, and we are
also going to be able to use it to create projects
to make with the children. I am deeply thankful
for all the community's support.
Which brings me to what else is on my mind: what to do next. I was so thrilled with the shows I had last year, and enjoyed preparing for them. But at this point, I am really wanting to focus on new work. I feel like I need to create more before I can show again. And then there is the challenge: how to create interesting work in your own "backyard" so to speak, meaning your immediate city or surrounding areas. Inspiration is easy when flying to an exotic locale; but that's probably not in the cards for me right now (unless I win a vacation :) ). So this will be my goal: to create work in and around Central Florida, whether it is landscape or abstract or created in a studio setting. But with these parameters comes challenge but also freedom: it's good in a way to have a narrower field of work. I guess you could call it "working with what you have", which has become a familiar phrase as of late to many people. This is what I want to do: to create a lot with little, to explore in a narrow field and see what I can come up with. The challenge begins.
